My filmster Nation !! Its Monday October 18th, Day 5 of The San Diego Film Festival. If you have not yet got a Virtual Pass to watch the rest of the festival online, I suggest you do so. Another awesome, amazing line up of films selected by Misses Tonya Monttooth (Executive and Artistic Director at the San Diego Film Festival) and the beautiful staff at the San Diego Film Festival. I hope you all had a great week of film and thanks for the experience created.
Sat in on the Closing night film, “Lost Daughter,” based on the book by Elana Ferrante, co written by Maggie Gyllenhaal and Elena Ferrante. Misses Gyllenhaals directorial debut had me on the edge of my seat the whole time hoping nothing would happen to our protagonist as the plot unfolded and revealed some bitter truths. Truths that answered a lot of the questions I had about particular scenes and characters.
Watching a movie without knowledge of the plot or even a brief synopsis can be scary because you don’t have a clue whats gonna happen, so you can’t brace yourself or cover your eyes or throw your popcorn away and run out of the movie theatre before it does…..(haha)
On Saturday, October 23rd, 2021, to cap off the whole week of film, patrons are being ushered to The USS Midway, downtown San Diego, 910 N Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101, for a screening of, ‘The Hornets Nest. ‘ (2014) Brought to you in part by The RTAG and The San Diego Film Festival. This event caps off the San Diego Film Festival and the annual RTAG Convention.
Yes, My Filmster Nation, it’s still goin down………
